Write Protect can prevent drives from unauthorized data writing via a hardware switch/pin or vendor software command.

In some cases, for better OS compatibility, Apacer’s Virtual Write scheme offers an ideal solution. Rather than writing data into the flash memory, it is instead stored in the volatile RAM portion of the controller. Once the write command is received, the controller will inform the host that the write command has been completed, indicating that the write process is complete. Later, when the system is reset or power turned off, the volatile memory will be gone and no trace of the written data will remain.

Since the Write Protect scheme runs at device level, it requires no software or driver installation and is fully independent from the host OS. Write Protect will not allow any data to be written to the NAND Flash, meaning that sensitive data will never be overwritten or deleted.
