Apacer Mass-produces 32GB DDR4 Industrial Memory, Boosting Real-time Performance and Seizing Global 5G Business OpportunitiesFeb 12, 2020
Apacer, a global leader in industrial storage and memory, announces the full-scale production of 32GB DDR4 industrial-grade memory. This is now available to global first-line SD-WAN (Software-Defined WAN), and virtual router vCPE (Virtualized Customer Premises Equipment) customers. As global telecom operators start to deploy 5G networks, in order to handle the continuous growth of temporarily stored data, large-capacity memory can help improve real-time computing performance and reduce network load. Apacer offers a full range of industrial-grade large-capacity memory, and is ready for the subsequent rollout to small base stations and micro data centers to grow business opportunities.
Apacer's 32GB DDR4-2666 industrial-grade memory module uses Samsung's latest generation 1x nm 16Gb A-die DDR4 DRAM chip. The aim is to relieve the pressure of 5G deployment costs and network virtualization. Starting with SD-WAN, vCPE and other applications, these memory modules are already successful in the global first-tier customer supply chain, taking the lead in the 5G market. The characteristics of 5G – including large bandwidth, high-speed transmission, low latency, and networking of a large number of devices – have boosted the demand for massive data gathering and high-speed processing. The memory specifications continue to be driven in the direction of large capacity and high performance. And the use of large capacity memory will help speed up real-time data processing and computing performance, reduce network load, and shorten load times.
Both the global 5G business transfer schedule and base station construction are accelerating. According to Markets and Markets' "Small Cell 5G Network Market" research report, the market size of 5G small cell bases will grow from $500 million in 2019 to $3.5 billion in 2025, with a compound annual growth rate up to 37.1%. Small cell bases and regional micro data centers will grow alongside vertical market applications such as smart manufacturing, smart healthcare, image recognition and monitoring, and the Internet of Vehicles. Small cell bases are expected to be an early adopter of 5G technology, bringing a new wave of growth momentum to the memory market.
Apacer’s full series of 32GB DDR4-2666 industrial-grade memory supports Intel’s Coffee Lake/Ice Lake and AMD’s Ryzen 3000/Ryzen Embedded V1000 series processors. Form factors include UDIMM, SODIMM, RDIMM, ECC UDIMM and ECC SODIMM, and anti-sulfuration protection is now available even on 32GB memory modules, in order to meet the more severe installation environment tests and more stringent reliability requirements required of 5G equipment.
